Step 1 — Pay the graduation fee with a card entered for this fee (Priority: P1)

Navigate: Log in as graduation.fee@example.com / TestPass123! → https://sp-dev.fly.dev/accounts/graduation-fee/`
Act: Wait for the secure card form. Do not finish payment yet if you still need the decline walk.
Navigate: Same graduation-fee page, then https://sp-dev.fly.dev/accounts/payments/`
Act: Pay with 4242 4242 4242 4242. Wait until the page reloads. Open Payments.
Navigate: Log out. Log in as graduation.waiting@example.com / TestPass123! → https://sp-dev.fly.dev/accounts/graduation-fee/`
Act: Read the page.


You're done when
Given the learner has met the certificate requirements, When they pay the graduation fee, Then they open a graduation-fee checkout that is not a course, enter a card for this fee, the card is not saved, and Affirm is not offered.
Heading is Graduation fee. The amount is $35.00. Copy says Pay with a card for this fee. Your card is not saved. The button says Pay graduation fee. There is no course line, no cart total, no Affirm option, and no “save this card” control.
The graduation-fee page says Your graduation fee is paid. and still shows $35.00. The card form and Pay graduation fee are gone. Payments shows one new order whose number starts with GRAD-, status Paid, amount $35.00. SP15-APP stays Paid $40.00. SP15-TUITION stays Paid $649.00.
The page says The graduation fee is not available yet. Certificate requirements must be met first. There is no card form and no Pay graduation fee button.



Step 2 — Staff send the same checkout link (Priority: P1)
Navigate: Log in as enrollment.admin@lsu.edu / *(sp-dev superuser password)* → pipeline → Graduation Eligible, or the SP15-ELIGIBLE link from the green banner (https://sp-dev.fly.dev/dashboard/applications/<pk>/)
Act: Find Graduation fee. Read the link address. Do not type a card.
Navigate: Sign out of the staff account. Log in as graduation.fee@example.com / TestPass123!. Open the address from Graduation fee link: https://sp-dev.fly.dev/accounts/graduation-fee/`
Act: Compare the page with the checkout the learner opened on their own.

You're done when
Given a staff member helping, When they help, Then they send the same checkout link from the learner’s dashboard application, and they do not key a card.
The card says Send this link so the learner pays the graduation fee with their own card. Do not key a card here. The Graduation fee link address is https://sp-dev.fly.dev/accounts/graduation-fee/`. The application page has no card number field and no Pay graduation fee button.
Same heading, same $35.00, same Pay with a card for this fee copy, same Pay graduation fee button, no Affirm, no save-card control, no course cart. The learner is the one who can type the card.



Step 3 — A failed charge is not a paid graduation fee (Priority: P2)
Navigate: https://sp-dev.fly.dev/accounts/graduation-fee/ as graduation.fee@example.com`
Act: Pay with 4000 0000 0000 0002. Stay on the page. Optionally, on a still-unpaid fee, pay with 4000 0025 0000 3155 and close the extra verification window instead of finishing it.
Navigate: Same graduation-fee page, then Payments
Act: Pay with 4242 4242 4242 4242. Wait until the page reloads. Open Payments.
Navigate: Payments as the eligible learner, and the Fees card on application SP15-ELIGIBLE
Act: Read the three rows

Act: Look for a way to pay again
Navigate: Close the tab. Log in again and open Payments and the graduation-fee page.

You're done when
Given a declined or unfinished charge, When the learner is still on checkout, Then the failure behavior is the existing cart failure contract, and no paid graduation fee is recorded.
You stay on the graduation-fee page. $35.00 is still there. Pay graduation fee is enabled again. A decline shows Your payment was declined. You can try again with the same or a different card. Closing the extra check should show Your payment is not finished. Pay again to complete your graduation fee. The page does not say Your graduation fee is paid. Payments has no Paid order starting with GRAD-.
The page says Your graduation fee is paid. Payments shows exactly one Paid order starting with GRAD- for $35.00. SP15-APP is still $40.00. SP15-TUITION is still $649.00.
SP15-APP Paid $40.00, SP15-TUITION Paid $649.00, and one GRAD- Paid $35.00. None of those amounts changed.
The page says Your graduation fee is paid. There is no card form and no Pay graduation fee button.
