What you're proving

A program administrator can create a reusable course template on the standalone Courses list — core details, pricing, and section defaults — and mark it ready for section creation, without Django admin.

Use a unique course code (e.g. UAT-ETHICS-2027) so you do not collide with seeded PLG-LRW-201.

Note: Course create lives on the Courses tile only — not inside a certificate. Attaching the course to a certificate is a separate step on the certificate edit screen (see WF-01 or WF-02).

Step 1 — Open the standalone courses list

  1. Open Catalog: https://lsuoce-development.fly.dev/dashboard/catalog/
  2. Click the Courses tile (not Certificates)
  3. Confirm the page lists courses with columns such as Certificates count and lifecycle badges
  4. Click + Create course in the page header
You're done when

Step 2 — Save core details and academic metadata

  1. Select costing unit Paralegal Studies (PL)
  2. Fill Title (e.g. UAT Paralegal Ethics), Course code, Description, and Default modality
  3. Under Academic metadata, set Credit type, Contact hours, and Grading basis
  4. Watch Effective CEU update when you change contact hours or CEU override
  5. Click Save as draft
  6. Confirm you land on the Edit course page for your new course
You're done when

Step 3 — Set pricing and fee components

  1. On the edit form, scroll to Pricing & fee components
  2. Enter a Base price (e.g. 549.00)
  3. Add at least one GL fee line that reconciles to the base price (e.g. tuition line matching the total)
  4. Click Save as draft
  5. Confirm the pricing card shows balanced totals — fix any reconciliation errors the form reports
You're done when

Step 4 — Configure section defaults and inheritance

  1. Scroll to Section defaults & inheritance
  2. Review default Modality, refund policy defaults, and inheritance toggles (what sections copy vs what staff may override)
  3. Add Section creator notes if your program uses them
  4. Click Save as draft
  5. Confirm inheritance labels in Course review summary match your choices
You're done when

Step 5 — Mark ready for section creation

  1. Complete any remaining required fields flagged in Course review summary
  2. Click Mark ready for section creation (when the form offers it)
  3. From the Courses list, open ⋯ → View sections for your new course
  4. Confirm Create section is available for this course
You're done when

Optional appendix — Internal preview
